There Is No More Time, For The Time Has Come
24 January 2008 | 1,310 viewsSo we were the fools then:
On whether Barisan would receive the same overwhelming mandate as in the 2004 election, he [Abdullah Ahmad Badawi] said he did not think so.
“If I get it, I will be very happy. But I am being very, very practical,” he said, adding that the 2004 result was overwhelming because of the leadership change when he replaced Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
“It was then a time of hope. There was expectation that a lot of things would change, but we cannot change, I cannot change everything.
“There was expectation that this or that has to be done. It’s not that we haven’t done anything. I have begun to implement practically everything that I have promised,” he added. [The Star]
We were the fools for getting carried away by what we thought the new administration could and would do.
We were the fools for being taken in by the hype and the propaganda.
We were the fools for thinking that this man could change things.
But he can’t, as he has himself admitted.
You know who can?
You.
So will you grant his request for “more time”?
Will you again swallow more promises that will surely be made as we head into the general election?
Or will you spit it out and say enough?
You can.
This land is where we were born, where we live, and where we will die.
The struggle to make it a better place is our struggle, because we owe it to our children, if not to ourselves, to make it so.
We need to do our duty and give them a future to look forward to.
No one else can.
On whether Barisan would receive the same overwhelming mandate as in the 2004 election, he [Abdullah Ahmad Badawi] said he did not think so.

your post is very effective as an election manifesto!
“We were the fools…” “Who…? YOU.”
wow… c’est magnifique!!!
“They included development programmes, vision plans and national economic policies that took as long as 30 years, he said.”
WHAT’S MISSING in that list, which AAB said was 1 of the TOP priorities??
TACKLE CORRUPTION.
i guess when he said ‘30 years’, that includes suing the ‘20 corrupt vips’ in court…
yeah, i think we need a change… real bad…

“The meek shall inherit the world.”
They do not & will not. You got to stand up for what’s right & damn the fear-mongers.
Vote with your conscience & take along with you your friends, your family & anyone you can reach out to onto the same path.
The elections are already “fixed” for the establishment. We are going into the ring with one hand tied behind our backs.
So we will need to do a lots more. Damnit, it’s not the time to be meek.
Speak up & influence.

There is this quote from a movie:
Politicians are like diapers. They need to be changed frequently and for the same reason.

But unfortunately the Opposition is riddled with so many hardcore fascists who basically prefer to die than to vote for each other. The prognosis – another 5 years of BN supremacy and an eternity of stealing continues.

Just put a balance of power in the parliament, in the state and please re-instate the local council election!
Give them 50% 50%, so that we can hold them by their throat (whoever they are) instead of being “focked” from behind year in year out.

Kaki-ayam….damn those manifestos….they are mere cosmetics. Just vote the opposition to erode BN majority….then there may be an implosion inside UMNO in particular and BN in general. No time to daly around with promises, visions, and all the whats-in-it for me shit. I am getting angry again.

Enough said. It is not like I didn’t vote for AAB. It was not like he didn’t promise reforms. It was not like he didn’t implement anything. It was just that he thinks he has done what he could. It is just that doing what he could is not good enough. We had been taken in once. Once is enough. We are shy of being bitten twice. The job is too important to give to those who don’t measure up to it. So, what more is there to say?

well we fell for the sleek marketing gimmick in 2004. Cemerlang, Terbilang and Gemilang and the promises in the manifesto. Now it is Temberang PM.
Till today he has not met his promises and is moving the goal post by saying it needs time. Just look at the manifesto, most of it can be done within his mandate.
Bottomline is he is a weak leader and we have found that out after 2years or so after 2004. Come next GE, I’ll not fall for his trick and marketing gimmick. This PM is all talk but no action, Kaki Temberang. Give him less than 2/3 rd majority and UMNO will kick him out. we cannot have this man as PM as he is bad for the country!!!!

In 2004 the BN slogan was:
Chemerlang, Gembilang dan Terbilang!
In 2008: The Verdict in The Peoples Court:
Cermerlang??,Gembilang?? TEMBERANG!!
